A Nation Divided
How long are we westerners supposed to put up with these whining francophone separatists? If they don’t want to be part of Canada any longer I am sure there are plenty of countries around the world that would welcome them with open arms. I mean who wouldn’t want them in their country? Doesn’t everybody love the whining, spoiled children that can’t be controlled by their parents?
I understand that Quebec is the center of the French culture in Canada and I personally don’t have a problem with that. What I do have a problem with is why they think they should continuously be given special treatmen.
This country was born of many different peoples coming from many different lands and this is what makes this country special, everybody is supposed to be equal regardless of culture or ethnicity. When we start dividing territories by ethnicity and culture it goes against the whole point of a multicultural country.
What makes the French Canadians think that their culture is any more special than any other culture? If they want to live in a French country there already is one, the one they chose to leave a few hundred years ago.
As I sit here writing this I can’t help but wonder which of the two Prime Ministers, Stephen Harper or Brian Mulroney, can be considered to be the worst leader of this country. Stephen Harper gives Quebec Nation status which will only serve to further alienate the west and Brian Mulroney who gave America seemingly free reign over our resources with the Free Trade Agreements.
Although I will never think of former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney as anything short of a traitor for his part in the Free Trade agreements, I can’t help but think that history will remember Stephen Harper as the architect of this once great nation’s breakup.
